ABOUT

What is the AYC Charity Fundraiser?

The Armenian Youth Center Golf Fore Kids Charity Fundraiser was initiated in 2018 to support fundraising efforts for the Armenian Youth Center of Greater Washington to fulfill the dream of building a community center for the American-Armenian community of the Washington, DC area. While this remains the AYC’s overall goal, it was decided in 2020 to utilize proceeds from the Golf Event to support the current initiatives of the various American-Armenian youth organizations of the greater Washington DC and Baltimore areas whose missions are to serve, inspire, and develop camaraderie through cultural, social, educational, and athletic endeavors.

On June 4th, 2018, the AYC Golf Fore Kids held its inaugural event at Montgomery Country Club in Laytonsville, MD. With more than 50 golfers and over 30 sponsors, the event was an immediate success. In 2019 and 2020, the now annual event was held at the Twin Lakes Golf Course in Clifton, VA with substantially increased participation and revenue growth. In 2021 and 2022, we hosted over 170 people each year at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, Maryland. Our 2023 golfing fundraiser was moved to Chantilly National Country Club in Centreville, VA. In 2024, we were excited to return back to Norbeck Country Club, where we will hold our 8th annual event on October 6, 2025. We are proud to state that the event has now been sold out 6 years in a row!

Thanks to the hard working and dedicated AYC Golf Committee members and the overwhelming support we continue to receive each year from participants and sponsors, this fundraising event has been hugely successful.  As a result of these efforts, the AYC has donated tens of thousands of dollars over the years to various local organizations, including the: Armenian Youth Federation D.C. Ani Chapter, Homenetmen of Greater Washington, Shinorhali Armenian School, Armenian Association of Greater Baltimore, Armenian Relief Society, Nareg Bell Choir, Operation Homefront, Hamazkayin, Armenian Church Youth Organization of America (ACYOA) and the Armenian Cultural Association of America to name a few.
